    About CRPF

    The Central Reserve Police Force dates back to 1939 when it was initially established as the Crown Representative's Police on July 27. Later, with the enactment of the CRPF Act on December 28, 1949, it transformed into the Central Reserve Police Force.

    With a glorious history spanning 84 years, this force has evolved into a substantial organization, comprising 246 battalions. These include 203 executive battalions, 5 VIP Security battalions, 6 Mahila battalions, 15 RAF battalions, 10 CoBRA battalions, 5 Signal battalions, and 1 Parliament Duty Group. Additionally, there are 43 Group Centres, 22 Training Institutions, 3 Central Weapon Stores (CWS), 7 Ammunition Workshops (AWS), 3 Mobile Workshops/Special Workshops (MWS/SWS), 4 Composite Hospitals with 100-bed facilities, 18 Composite Hospitals with 50-bed capacities, and 6 Field Hospitals in its infrastructure.
