Communication and IT setup in CRPF is headed by IG (Comn & IT). He is the Principal Staff Officer to the Director General, CRPF to advise him on all Communication related matters including Cryptography and Information Technology. In addition to his duties as the Principal Staff Officer to the DG CRPF, he also exercises the powers of Head of Department in respect of Communication Sector consisting of five Signal Battalions, CTC (T&IT) and Signal Range. DIsG (Communication, Technical, Equipment and Information Technology) posted in the Communication Directorate support him as his staff officers.
